WA sexual health week community small grants scheme

 

Overview

The ongoing theme for WA sexual health week is safety, pleasure and respect with the target group being youth aged 15 to 24 years. Young people are particularly vulnerable to sexually transmitted infections (STIs) for many reasons, including poor knowledge of STIs and inconsistent or incorrect use of condoms.

The WA sexual health week committee, under the community small grants scheme, provides small grants to enable health promotion officers, public and community health nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers and other relevant personnel and youth-oriented organisations in regional/remote WA to run a small project to coincide with WA sexual health week.
