Rhodanthe Lipsett Indigenous midwifery charitable trust
Overview
The Rhodanthe Lipsett trust aims to make a contribution to both 'a better start in life' and 'closing the gap' for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mothers and babies.
The role of the trust is to provide financial assistance in the form of small grants and scholarships to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander midwifery students, to assist them in their study to become midwives.
The following scholarships are available:
- provision of financial support to assist currently enrolled midwifery students to progress with their studies - a number of 'one off' scholarships valued at $500 each will be awarded in 2013
- provision of financial support to assist currently registered midwives to advance their professional development in midwifery through attendance at a conference, seminar or workshop related to the improvement of maternal and infant health care - 5 scholarships valued at $500 each will be awarded in 2014
- provision of financial support to assist undergraduate third year (or post graduate equivalent) midwifery students with their payment of their higher education contribution scheme (HECS) financial liability - scholarships to be awarded in 2014.
