The Department of Health (DoH) has established the Targeted Research Fund (TRF) to provide funding for research projects that focus on the capacity of Western Australia (WA) Health to address significant issues that impact on the health of the population of WA. For the purposes of this program, 'WA Health' refers to all WA public sector health agencies that are under the jurisdiction of the Minister for Health.
The aims of the TRF are to:
Research outcomes must clearly link the capacity of WA Health to address the identified issues, through policy, operational or other transformational changes that are implementable and sustainable.
Projects may be awarded up to $400,000 (GST exclusive). The research activities that may be funded under the TRF are anticipated to be wide-ranging, and could include, without being limited to, areas such as:
