Asthma Foundation WA - Research grants
Overview
Since its establishment, Asthma Foundation WA (AFWA) has worked towards supporting and funding research to understand more about asthma, its causes and treatments and hopefully to find a cure. AFWA's research program will be divided into three core funding areas which include project grants, new investigator grants and PhD scholarship top-ups. AFWA's funding value is $50,000 (plus GST).
- Project research grants are open to all researchers and seek to support the most effective local research in areas relevant to asthma, including, but not limited to, basic science, medical, nursing, pharmacy, allied health, health economics, social and community, carers and any other area relevant to people living with asthma.
- New investigator grants provide funds to encourage new researchers (individuals who have not previously been named as a Chief Investigator in an accepted National Competitive Grant). Project budgets for both grants of no more than $19,000 (plus GST) are preferred.
- PhD scholarship top-ups are attached to an established full PhD Scholarship in an area relevant to people with asthma and approved for up to three years full time research. Assistance of up to $6,000 (plus GST) per annum is available.
