Healthway Indigenous research training scholarships

Overview

These scholarships provide support for Indigenous students to undertake research training in the promotion of health in Indigenous communities. Applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, and must live in Western Australia for the duration of the scholarship. Areas identified for health promotion research projects include:

• harmful alcohol and other drug use
• good nutrition
• mental health
• injury prevention
• physical activity promotion
• determinants of healthy behaviour
• sexual health
• sun protection
• tobacco smoking control
• asthma prevention and control
• cancer prevention
• cardiovascular disease prevention
• diabetes prevention.

Scholarships are for graduate certificates, postgraduate diplomas, honours, PHDs or master's courses. The value of the scholarships are dependent on the applicants employment status for the previous 12 month period.
