Overview

The Nursing and allied health scholarship and support scheme: continuing professional development (NAHSSS CPD) funded by Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing is an Australian Government initiative supporting nurses and midwives to undertake continuing professional education activities short courses and conferences.

Applications will be considered from applicants who are:

• Australian citizens or permanent residents
• A registered or enrolled nurse and/or registered midwife with a current practicing certificate
• Participating in an activity that is eligible to accrue CPD points as prescribed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
• Delivering clinical services in Australia
  

The NAHSSS CPD has consolidated the following scholarships:

• Nurse scholarship program: continuing professional education for rural and remote nurses
• Practice nurse continuing professional development scholarships
  
• Nurse scholarship program: nurse re-entry

The scheme provides financial assistance for continuing professional development in the form of a scholarship worth up to a total of $1,500 per applicant and nurses undertaking re-entry courses will receive up to $6,000 covering a two year study period.
