This course is open to all Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people who work in providing support and assistance in community settings under the guidance of other people. An example of such work includes providing practical and emotional support to clients over the telephone. This course consists of 11 compulsory units and two elective units. An example of some of the units covered in the course include: applying a community development framework; working within an ethical and legal framework; and responding holistically to client issues.
