The theme for this year's conference is: Boom and bust: mental health in remote Australia, marnu'. 'Marnu' means healthy mind and body' and recognises the Nyiyaparli people, the traditional land owners of Newman. The conference will explore issues of mental health, social and emotional wellbeing and drug and alcohol use; placing these in the context of Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse communities, mining and other industry, and families living remotely or with a family member working remotely. Ideas for a sustainable future and healthy communities will be offered.
Abstract submissions close Friday April 15 2011.
Registrations open June 2011.
