The 7th Environmental Health Conference centred around the theme 'Better health in a changing environment'.
The conference aimed to:
The conference was aimed for people and agencies involved in the delivery and or development of environmental health services or environmental health initiatives within Indigenous communities, including: environmental health officers/workers/practitioners; Aboriginal health workers; CDEP workers and supervisors; community council members; community house providers; essential service providers; health promotion officers; primary health care workers; directors and managers of environmental health services and town clerks and local government CEOs.
The Indigenous Environmental Health Practitioners web resource was launched at this conference. Jane Burns, Senior Research Officer, HealthInfoNet gave a joint presentation with Sonja Carmichael, Senior Policy Officer, Indigenous Environmental Health, Queensland Health, titled 'Building a one stop info-shop for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander environmental health practitioners on the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet. Jane Burns and Director, Neil Thomson ran a HealthInfoNet cafe.
