Women's Council Aboriginal family violence training

Overview

The Women's Council for Domestic and Family Violence Services WA is organising this training. Following on from last September's sell-out training: Law, history and personal narratives: an Aboriginal family violence perspective. This year, the Council is offering the opportunity to hear from some inspirational Aboriginal women speak about violence in the community once more. This training will address historical, legal, political and personal issues in relation to family violence faced within Aboriginal families and communities. It will describe what constitutes an Aboriginal family and the dynamic kinship systems within them, while analysing similarities and differences experienced by members of diverse Aboriginal communities.
