Hepatitis B: breaking down the barriers

 

Overview

Health professionals recognise that screening, vaccination, and pro-active diagnosis and management of hepatitis B prevent chronic liver disease and liver cancer. Engaging with the community and 'at risk' populations is vital. Encouraging a better understanding of the disease process, the need for screening, and the benefits of a vaccination program can make a difference in the incidence of long term complications with this disease.
