Overview

The theme of the symposium is Beyond cultural awareness.

The symposium is an opportunity to bring members together to celebrate the achievements of The Australian Indigenous Doctors' Association (AIDA) in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

HealthInfoNet Cafe

This symposium was organised by the Australian Indigenous Doctors Association. The theme was Beyond cultural awareness. The symposium aimed to provide its members and stakeholders with an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander doctors. It was relevant to general practitioners, physicians, specialists, researchers, academics, educators and students. The presentations focused on the theme of culture and its application to the workplace and the health care system.

The Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet held an internet cafe. The main focus was to further promote the new website; The Australian Indigenous ClinicalInfoNet. The cafe aimed to raise awareness of how the ClinicalInfoNet could support delegates in their capacity as primary health practitioners. Delegates stated how user friendly the website appeared from the demonstrations given and the efficiency of locating relevant resources in one place.
