3rd Dental health reform summit
Overview
The summit will examine the key issues that have dominated national discussion in recent months on population dental health.
The forum brings together the leaders in dental healthcare, clinical experts, researchers and drivers of dental health policy to examine a preventative and restorative dental health policy, dental health promotion, workforce development and innovative care models.
The agenda includes Indigenous content:
- successful partnerships - child and maternal health nurses with a focus on the early years, Aboriginal Health Workers, aged care projects, tobacco cessation and nutrition services
- Aboriginal oral health:
- advocating oral health among Aboriginal communities
- shifting the way the community views oral health as a part of dental health
- challenges for chronic disease management and continuing care
- equity and access for Indigenous clients
- delivering care through Aboriginal Health Workers to prevent early childhood caries in Aboriginal children.
