Overview

Nuts and bolts of sexual health is FPWA's core sexual health training program. This three day course develops the fundamental knowledge, attitudes, and skills required to support and educate people around sexual health issues. It has a particular focus on working with young people, including Aboriginal young people.

Participants will gain essential understanding and skills to work with young people in the areas of:

• bodies, sex, and reproduction
• gender, power, and diversity
• relationships, pressure, negotiation, and consent
• pregnancy and contraception
• sexually transmissible infections, bloodborne viruses, drugs, safe sex, and harm reduction.

It is relevant for a wide range of people working in the community, such as youth workers, health workers (e.g. Aboriginal Health Workers), nurses, and people working with Aboriginal communities.
