The FPWA Pap smear provider course develops the essential knowledge and skills required for nurses to provide pap smears and preventive health checks for women on behalf of a supporting doctor. Enrolled nurses and Aboriginal Health Workers with appropriate skills and experience are also eligible to attend. This Regional pap smear provider course adds an extra sexually transmissible infection (STI) clinical management day, essential for practice in regions of WA where STIs are endemic. The course meets the national standards for nurse pap smear providers.
