Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) item 715 is an annual health check for Indigenous people of all ages.

The tool is an online dynamic data display that highlights and promotes health check uptake. It shows usage rates, the proportion of Indigenous people having the check, as well as numbers in one central place. It enables comparisons of both rates and numbers over time and across different medicare locals, peer groups, states and territories.

The checks aim to increase preventative health opportunities, detect chronic disease risk factors, better manage existing chronic disease and reduce inequities in access to primary care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Abstract adapted from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare and Medicare Local Northern Territory
