No smokes website goes live on World no tobacco day

Date posted: 31 May 2012

Today (31 May 2012) is World no tobacco day. The theme for this year is 'Tobacco industry interference'.

A new online resource for Indigenous people, No smokes, has been launched for World no tobacco day by Dr Sheree Cairney (No smokes project director) and the No smokes project team.

No smokes is a new tool in the anti-smoking campaign, designed specifically for young Indigenous Australians. No smokes is an interactive, youth-friendly website loaded with resources and information, including games and animations, and video interviews with prominent Aboriginal celebrities, health workers and young people.

No smokes is funded by the Department of Health and Ageing as part of its Indigenous tobacco control initiative, and has ensured it received the input of Indigenous Australians at every stage of its design.
