Feedback welcome on draft on renal palliative care services in WA

The Renal Health Network (RHN) has released a draft publication titled A pathway for renal palliative care services in Western Australia, and is seeking feedback on the document.

The document outlines an integrated, patient-centric, multi-disciplinary renal palliative care service pathway. The pathway includes a strong link with a palliative care team, and is based on current best practice. The final publication will inform statewide policy and service planning for improving the care of Western Australians with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD).

The document was developed by an interdisciplinary working group established by the RHN, including:

• palliative care practitioners
• health professionals experienced in renal care
• general practitioners working in Aboriginal health
• consumer and carer representatives.
