Date posted: 14 February 2012

The Australian Government has announced the funding recipients of the third round of grants under the community level initiative that are part of the National binge drinking strategy.  A total of $10 million for 26 community level projects to combat risky drinking among young Australians is available to the successful applicants.

The grants will be administered by the new Australian National Preventive Health Agency, and projects will receive funding of up to $500,000 each under the initiative. Projects are expected to commence in early 2012, and funding recipients include Aboriginal community controlled corporations and targeted initiatives. A full list of projects can be found on the Department of Health and Ageing's website.
