Up to 31 alcohol and other drug worker positions will be created to expand treatment, prevention and counselling services across the Kimberley and Pilbara regions of Western Australia. The positions will be funded under a $16.4 million commitment from the State Government's Royalties for regions program, which will be delivered over four years. The Mental Health Minister Helen Morton stated that suitably qualified people would be recruited to work on targeted prevention activity, alcohol management planning and increased local treatment services.
