New rehabilitation services available in the East Kimberley

Stage two of the Ngnowar Aerwah 7 Mile Residential Rehabilitation Facility service was officially opened in Wyndham on 8 September 2011. This building stage was funded under the $195 million East Kimberley Development Package, a joint Commonwealth and State Government initiative. The Ngnowar Aerwah Aboriginal Corporation in Wyndham provides a 13 week residential rehabilitation program to community members wanting to stop drinking alcohol. Following the facility upgrade, the service has seen the number of referrals for alcohol and other drug treatment increase.
