Aboriginal Health Workers Board of the Northern Territory annual newsletter published

The latest edition of the annual Aboriginal Health Workers Board of the Northern Territory newsletter is now published. This newsletter includes the topics: moving towards national registration, criminal history checks, supervision reports and registration renewals.

The new Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practice board, (the national board appointed 1 July, 2011), will be responsible for the regulation of AHWs from 1 July, 2012. The board's current primary focus is preparatory work for the changeover. The Northern Territory AHW board will regulate the NT AHWs until the end of June 2012, automatically transfering to the national scheme on 1 July, 2012.
