Kimberley liquor restriction benefits seen firsthand

Date posted: 30 August 2011

The Western Australian Racing and Gaming Minister Terry Waldron says he has been buoyed by a visit to West Kimberley Aboriginal communities that are under the state's strictest type of liquor restrictions. The Minister met residents of Noonkanbah and Wangkatjungka, who he says told him there have been big changes since the section 175 restrictions came in more than two years ago. The Minister has now amended the Noonkanbah restrictions boundary to cover the whole community site.
