The New South Wales Government will investigate a new model to actively 'close the gap' of disadvantage in Aboriginal communities. The Department of Aboriginal Affairs will look at the feasibility of placing a series of Aboriginal Culture Centres and satellite facilities around the state.
The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Victor Dominello, says the centres will become hubs for students to share culture, language, heritage and history, with the focus on making education enjoyable and instilling a sense of self, pride and dignity in students.
