South Australian politicians from both Labor and Liberal parties have signed a statement of intent for the state to 'close the gap' in life expectancy between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Aboriginal Australians within a generation.
Aboriginal groups and health associations are also key signatories to the statement which commits them to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians to achieve equality in life expectancy and health status by the year 2030.
