Conservation and land management traineeships at Monarto Zoo open new paths for Indigenous graduates

Date posted: 10 December 2013

Six Aboriginal students have widened their career paths in conservation and horticulture after completing Conservation and land management traineeships at Monarto Zoo this year.

The traineeships were part of the Murraylands Monarto Aboriginal Learning on country program which provided people with the skills to become a ranger or to work in the horticulture field.

Funding for the program comes from agencies within the Riverland and Murraylands regions and the State Government Skills for Jobs in Regions program.
