Cancer Council develops new national resources for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

The Cancer Council NSW in partnership with the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council NSW has developed new national resources including a book titled: Aboriginal cancer journeys: our stories of kinship, hope and survival. The book portrays the cancer experiences of persons from a cross-section of the community. Another resource includes eight fact sheets about the impact of cancer. The resources are the first of their kind, and designed by a highly acclaimed Aboriginal artist. The project was supported by an Australian Government Cancer Australia "Strengthening Cancer Care" Grant. Sandra Bailey, the CEO of the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council NSW will be launching the resources Thursday 17 June at the AH&MRC Living Better Longer Chronic Diseases Conference in Sydney.
