Indigenous runners complete New York Marathon

Date posted: 6 November 2013

A group of 11 Indigenous Australian runners completed the New York Marathon on Sunday 3 November 2013.

The runners are part of the Robert De Castella's Indigenous marathon project, and included a number of inspiring young mothers from remote parts of Australia, who balanced motherhood with marathon training.

'They're just an amazing example of everything that's wonderful about our incredible Indigenous culture and people', Robert De Castella is quoted to say.
