Bega bandanas raise bucks for CanTeen

Date posted: 24 October 2013

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health centre Bega Garnbirringu in Boulder, Western Australia has held a fundraising event that raised more than $450 for cancer research.

To celebrate National Bandana Day, staff at Bega held a morning tea at which they wore bandanas bought from the office. The event was organised by Bega youth support officer Jessica Malec, who bought the CanTeen bandanas and pens and distributed them through the office, selling the entire supply. The money from the sale of the items will be donated to CanTeen Australia, an Australian charity which provides support for young people living with cancer.
