Voting open for the 2013 Deadly Awards

Date posted: 23 July 2013

Voting for the 2013 Deadly Awards is now open.

The awards are supported by the Australian Government and celebrate Indigenous achievement across sport, music, film, television, visual arts, education, culture, science, employment and health; areas that contribute to Closing the gap. There are three health-related categories:

The awards are an opportunity to recognise achievers who make a real difference each day in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Executive producer Gavin Jones said 'One of the most enjoyable aspects for me as executive producer of the Deadlys is the opportunity to showcase our unique Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture to the wider Australian public, and also to put forward our remarkable role models - the finalists and winners in the award categories - on a national stage and honour that achievement.'

Voting is open until the 18 August 2013 and final winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on the 10 September 2013 at Sydney Opera House.
