Memorial golf game honours Aboriginal role model Kenny Buckskin

Aboriginal golfers from Adelaide converged on Port Augusta last week to compete in the Kenny Buckskin memorial competition.

This event is held in memory of the late Kenny Buckskin, a Port Augusta local and a very well respected Aboriginal community Elder, musician, singer, artist, family man and avid golfer. Mr Buckskin dedicated his life to Aboriginal affairs, families and men's issues. He was a role model and educator in his community, and was dedicated to ensuring that Aboriginal children had strong futures.

This memorial golf event event, now in its third season, alternates between the Gawler Golf Club and the Port Augusta Golf Club. The championship is fiercely contested and a perpetual award is the reward for the best team calculated on the collective team scores on the day.
