On 21 March people all over Australia will join forces to show their support for 'closing the gap' in life expectancy between Indigenous and other Australians by participating in a National Close the Gap Day event.
National Close the Gap Day is a way for all Australians to join together and remind political leaders of their commitments to close the life expectancy gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians within a generation.
The event is Australia's largest campaign to improve Indigenous health. In 2012 more than 130,000 Australians participated in events across the country to show their support and raise awareness of the campaign.
Anyone can join the campaign by registering their own National Close the Gap Day event, or by attending one of the public events listed on the Oxfam website (see links below).
