Chairman of the Kimberly Aboriginal Law and Culture Centre, Wes Morris, says Prime Minister Kevin Rudd is putting a positive spin on the Government's efforts to close the gap, and believes it is too early to judge if progress has been made.
Mr Morris made the comments following the Prime Minister's Closing the Gap statement to Parliament on 11 February 2010. In order to achieve the Closing the Gap targets, Mr Morris says that Aboriginal identity and culture must be embodied in the COAG process.
