QuickSmart is a program that helps school students improve their basic skills in mathematics. The program has been noted as a key achievement in the Prime Minister's Closing the Gap report 2010 for contributing to improved fluency and facility with basic numeracy among Indigenous students.
The QuickSmart program currently operates in over 200 schools around Australia and was developed at the National Centre of Science, Information and Communication Technology and Mathematics Education for Rural and Regional Australia (SiMERR National Centre), based at the University of New England. The number of schools implementing the program is expected to double by the end of 2010.
