H4H wins national award

Hoops 4 Health Aboriginal Corporation was today announced the winner of the 'Play your part' award from the National Association for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN).

The award was received by the Hoops 4 Health Chairperson, Mr Glenn Warrior at the breakfast launch of National Child Protection Week. The launch and breakfast was organised by NT NAPCAN Manager, Ms Lesley Taylor with 200 people in attendance at the Darwin Convention Centre.

Hoops 4 Health founder, Mr Timmy Duggan accepted the award alongside Mr Warrior on behalf of Hoops 4 Health for 'Outstanding prevention activities'.

The Basketball after hours linking leisure equals results and safety or BALLERS program initiated by Hoops 4 Health Board Member, Nikki Butler, was the program Hoops 4 Health used to implement into communities in the Northern Territory.
