Dympna Leonard is a public health nutritionist (Early Life Indigenous Nutrition and Growth - ELING) based in Cairns Public Health Unit. This role focuses on nutrition and growth in early life among the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations of north Queensland, and includes some work on remote food supply issues.
Before moving into her current ELING position, Dympna was the Director of the Queensland Tropical Health Nutrition team. Prior to coming to Cairns, Dympna worked in central Australia, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and Ireland.
