Biography

Deanne Minniecon is of both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent and is Indigenous Program Manager at the Brisbane South Public Health Network.

Deanne has worked in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and education for more than 20 years including working in community-controlled health services, universities, state governments and non-government organisations. She previously worked as National and State Program Leader of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Program for Diabetes Queensland where she provided leadership and strategic direction. Deanne has also worked for Queensland Health over different periods as a Health Promotion Officer leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander prevention activities and Senior Policy Officer providing strategic advice on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

Over the years Deanne has led a range of preventative health programs and strategies targeting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Queensland and has also provided advice on key preventative health initiatives nationally.
