As well as the strategic advice provided by the HealthInfoNet's Advisory Board, we are assisted in specific areas by a number of reference and/or steering groups. We currently have reference groups assisting in the areas of ear health and hearing, substance use, social and emotional wellbeing, and road safety (all areas supported by special funds).
The area of road safety also has a national Steering Committee, comprising government officials from those jurisdictions providing financial support. Development of the evidence-base for Indigenous environmental health practitioners is being guided by a similar group, and the Steering Committee of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nutrition Strategic Action Plan (NATSINSAP) performs a similar role in the area of nutrition.
