Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health performance framework report 2008

This is a report about progress for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Performance Framework established to measure the impact of the National Strategic Framework for Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander Health. The report highlights improvements in vital aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health while acknowledging areas which remain unchanged and others which have worsened since the 2006 report.

The report covers areas including health determinants and behaviours, access to health care, child and maternal services, social and emotional wellbeing and management of chronic illnesses. Finally, the report considers the levels of resource expenditure required to strengthen the system of comprehensive primary health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
