Poster
The asthma action plan and danger plan were developed specifically for Indigenous peoples with asthma who live in remote areas of Australia.
The action plan presents the range of symptoms people would show if they were suffering from asthma. It also includes when and how to use asthma medication. The danger plan details a step by step plan for emergency situations.
The resources carry very clear simple messages. They are colourful and appealing in an educational setting.
Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet abstract
These resources were specifically developed for Indigenous people and are ideally suited for use by health professionals working with remote Indigenous communities throughout Australia. The action plan and danger plan posters can be used during one-on-one discussions, but are also useful in group situations to encourage discussions on respiratory health, the risk factors and treatment options.
