In 2003, the Health Promotion Directorate, in collaboration with the Office of Aboriginal Health undertook a project that aimed to increase the knowledge of Aboriginal people about the signs of type 2 diabetes, and to encourage Aboriginal people to undertake preventive behaviours for type 2 diabetes. The project resulted in the production of two resources, an information pamphlet and a related interactive word puzzle. A quantitative evaluation of these resources was conducted in May 2005, supporting the production and distribution of both the resources, and the possible future development of a similar pamphlet addressing 'Heart Health'.
