The podcast includes an explanation of otitis media and information on the symptoms, and health and developmental consequences of the disease delivered by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voice artists within a culturally appropriate narrative. It runs for 1 minute and 11 seconds.

The Listen `ear messages were originally aired on Indigenous radio station, 98.9fm, for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander listeners in south-east Queensland and were funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.
