Description

These guidelines aim to provide a professional framework to those workers who deliver specialist alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatments with a benchmark for the delivery of quality psychosocial interventions.

The guidelines describe a range of psychosocial models with reference to the available evidence base for treating problematic AOD use. Readers are referred to a range of additional resources, texts, and training courses that can provide advice and skills in the use of these psychosocial models.

The guidelines are aligned with the NSW Health Drug and Alcohol Plan 2006 - 2010.
