Description

This resource seeks to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity for maintaining a healthy weight to reduce the risk of breast cancer in women. A major risk factor for cancer in post-menopausal women is being obese or overweight. The resource was produced for Move, a physical activity health promotions project aimed at Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults in the greater Brisbane region. The project also promotes healthy lifestyle choices, regular access to health care services and programs to prevent and/or manage chronic diseases (e.g., high cholesterol, hypertension, obesity, cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes, kidney disease and cancers).
