This resource is a storybook aimed at educating children and their families about the importance of reducing the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Accompanying colouring-in books and stickers have also been developed.
The storybook encourages children to adopt three simple behaviours to prevent type 2 diabetes:

Diabetes WA currently has 10,000 copies of the book which will be available to Aboriginal communities state-wide and distributed to schools with an Aboriginal population, libraries, health institutions and centres. Please refer to the contact details below if you wish to obtain copies of the book.

This program produced a storybook titled Gary goanna goes healthy, which is a culturally relevant resource aimed at increasing awareness of diabetes prevention messages amongst Aboriginal children and their families.
