The website was launched at the World Indigenous Housing Conference (WIHC) in British Columbia, Canada, in mid-2012. It is managed by Canada's Aboriginal Housing Management Association (AHMA) in partnership with the First Nations Technology Council (FNTC) and Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC).
