Creating cultural empathy and challenging attitudes through Indigenous narratives (2012)

Description

The Creating cultural empathy and challenging attitudes through Indigenous narratives project aims to increase the understanding and empathy between healthcare professionals and Indigenous people using stories to influence the attitudes of health students. Part of the project involved the development of this website.

The website includes the stories of Indigenous people's experience of health services and also scenarios for best practice based on the stories presented. To access the Indigenous narratives and scenarios people are required to register http://altc.betterhealth.ecu.edu.au/register-now.php

The project is led by Edith Cowan University in collaboration with The Combined Universities Centre for Rural Health, Curtin University of Technology, the University of Notre Dame, and the University of Western Australia and Health Consumers' Council (WA).
