Description

This radio program provides information on managing stress with newborns for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parents. In this program a spokesperson from the Queensland Centre for Mothers and Babies describes some of the feelings new mums and dads often experience, and explains that such feelings are normal. The program encourages new parents to use the support of family and friends, especially in the first few months, and also provides information of where parents can go to get help and support. The radio program runs for 1 minute and 34 seconds.

The information in this radio program provides information that would be helpful for new Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parents, especailly those who might be having difficulty adjusting to their new role. Health workers could let clients and their families know how to access the radio program or the program could be downloaded at the health service site for clients to access.
