The Happy little ears resource kit was developed by the Child and Adolescent Community Health, Aboriginal Health Team in consultation with the local community.
The kit is a practical tool that parents and children can use together to maintain good ear health and prevent the long term health effects of otitis media (OM). It explains the measures families can take to ensure good ear health in children, including: hand washing, not smoking around children, breastfeeding for at least six months, maintaining a healthy diet and teaching children to blow their nose.

The kit is free for parents and caregivers of Aboriginal children aged 0 - 4 years in the Perth metropolitan area. Kits are being distributed to the community through Child and Adolescent Community Health Service, Aboriginal Health Teams across the region.
The resource kit was funded by Australian Government, Department of Health and Ageing.
