Yarning about mental health: yarning four step plan (2008)

Description

This flipchart has been produced for mental health practitioners working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. The flipchart describes four steps that guide mental health treatment, they include:

• talking about family and friends
• the things that keep us strong
• the things that take our strength away
• goals for change.

The flipchart uses pictures and plain English which allows practitioners to work in partnership with their clients when completing the four steps.

When to use this resource

This flipchart can be used by mental health practitioners as a screening tool, educational tool, or when developing care plans with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
